Thanksgiving #1: Classics with a Twist

Herb and Apple Stuffing ::  Brined and Roasted Turkey :: Caramelized Brussel Sprouts :: Chocolate Pecan Pie :: Orange Spice Coconut Pumpkin Pie :: Cheesy Creamed Corn Casserole ::  Rustic Garlic Mashed Potatoes :: Orange-Scented Cranberry Sauce :: Maple-Cranberry Sweet Potatoes :: Buttered Rosemary Rolls

With Thanksgiving rapidly approaching, it’s time to start thinking about and planning out one of the most decedent and savory meals of the year. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be putting together some Thanksgiving menus for all different taste buds.

First up, this week’s menu is for those who want to stick to the classics, but kick it up a little for their guests. Instead of serving basic sweet potatoes, caramelize them with cranberries. Substitute a bread loaf for rosemary herb dinner rolls made in a cast iron pan. Add cheese to your corn casserole, and add orange and coconut to your pumpkin pie. You’ll be surprised at how some little differences to traditional recipes can take your thanksgiving meal to the next level.
